Review:
Ana Sidel- Live @ House of Blues, Tuesday 3/9/04,
I'm sure that most of the audience was unprepared for the sight
of ANA Sidel "the wild jungle woman," as she and her multi-cultural
band took control of the House of Blues.
The single girls all wanted to be her; all the single guys just wanted her. The guys with dates were in agony, and their girlfriends jealous. All concerned reacted as if seeing an apparition at Fatima.
Meanwhile, ANA was singing to their unconscious minds with her seemingly quiet, sultry style, as she held them in a hypnotic state and toyed with them.
The set contained all the songs from her new CD "A SOLAS." Although her band played flawlessly, it was apparent to this seasoned reporter, that ANA is not only in a class of her own, but that everyone, including her band-members, clearly realized that this is a star shining so brightly for everyone present. Still, she got down on her hands and knees to get closer to her fans.
ANA Sidel's stage presence is that of a seasoned pro. This was her party and everyone was invited; and for those who showed up, she was being the consummate host, trying to make sure everyone was having as much fun as she was, and it was she, that was giving out gifts.
At some future date, many members of the audience will remember that they "saw ANA before she blew up so huge." The lucky ones left with CD's, souvenirs, and autographs from this remarkable lady: "The New DIVA of Rock Espanol."
Wait till ANA starts singing in English; at which time she is destined to be come "The Aboriginal Diva of Rock." Good thing Cher is retiring.
Look out world, ready or not: here comes ANA Sidel!
